Profile
I graduated from Lancaster University in 2003, with a 2:1 in Art: Practice and Theory. (1st for paintings)
I create paintings using a mixture of technology and fine art practice; The work highlights ‘what is seen but not looked at’; the perception of society, journeys and landscapes, we take for granted in the fast paced condition of modern life.
Many of the places incorporated within my practice are relative to my life and journeys undertaken within the North West.
Exhibited in the Astley Hall Annual Open Exhibition.
Winner of vote for favourite painting on preview evening, which led to an exhibition in Hungary.
Art Degree Show - 'Lost and Found' at Peter Scott Gallery at Lancaster University.
Exhibition in Szekesfehervar, Hungary.
Szekesfehervar is Chorley’s twin town. I represented Chorley Council as the artist in
residence at the 14th annual artists camp in Gardony. I worked
alongside artists from Hungary, Romania, Germany, Italy, Poland and
the Ukraine.
The exhibition at the end of the cammp was shown in the Town’s Culture House, which is
housed within the town's aluminium factory. Szekesfehervar Council kept two
paintings, for its collection, one which is housed in the Town Hall and
one which remains in the Culture House.
